To celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday (MLK Day), the King George Branch NAACP is working to honor the request from the King Family. In lieu of celebrating MLK Day, we are using the day to contact our congressmen (Honorable Tim Kaine and Honorable Mark Warner) to pass the Voting legislative bills for equality and availability to everyone to prevent the issues that occurred as a result of Election 2020 and the January 6 riot on Congress. We ask and encourage you to:
Talk with or write to your Congressman
Urge your Congressman to vote in favor of these bills
Present signed petitions to your Congressman
To assist you with writing letters, a flyer is attached and two sample letters to be used to send to State Representatives Mark Kaine and Mark Warner to get them to support approving the three (3) Voting Rights Bills that are on the table.
They can be emailed and/or handed out to others to get the word out and around. Feel free to make copies and help to get the support and approval of by our representatives.
Please copy and paste your letter directly into the senators' email boxes:
